I’ve been down here for a few days and it’s incredible!!! I get back to Baltimore monday. Many pics will ensue… today I saw David Banner and Manny Fresh and it was goddamn amazing! Best performance I have seen in a looooooooong time.

Last friday I saw Double Dagger play at the Lofi in Baltimore. Amazing show… they played all new material (except one song for Ellie’s birthday), and were hampered slightly by a broken bass drum pedal… BUT someone in the crowd managed to somehow fix a broken spring. How you fix a spring that has snapped in half, I don’t know, but it was accomplished and the dude saved the show!
The one with Britney on the cover. They named taxlo as best national dance party of the month!

I’m the photographer on the right. This is from episode 5 of season 5… I played a photographer in 3-4 episodes of the last season. So glad to be a part of this show (even a very small part). Season 4 just came out on DVD, go buy it and support what is probably the best show ever.

serie b, a pretty sweet european magazine, will be featuring several of my photos in an upcoming feature about baltimore club and the baltimore music scene. (this is not the issue i am in; it’s not out yet).
i am also going to have a photo prominently featured in the march issue of blender; look for the dance party spotlight article.
Sunday I went and saw the always amazing Video Hippos play with Juiceboxxx at the Depot… Cullen Stalin and Emily Rabbit also DJ’d. Video Hippos are consistantly one of the best and funnest live bands in Baltimore (in my humble opinion). Don’t miss them!

Before I went away for the holidays, I took some promo shots of the Death Set’s Johnny Siera. This one is probably my favorite. They might be used by Ninjatune, who recently signed the Death Set… or they might just be sweet facebook pictures for Johnny! There is one more after the break, too.
This is one of the first shoots at my new studio. It’s not all set up yet, but it’s nice to have a sizeable space to work in.

A little over year ago my then-acquaintance and now-friend Jim Lucio asked me if I could fill in for him, taking club pictures at Sonar for the weekly Taxlo party. Jim is possibly better known as Defekto, one of the best photographers in Baltimore, so I was flattered. I filled in for him that night, and several more and eventually Jim and I started taking turns photographing, which recently ended it’s residency at Sonar (and it’s weekly status). I learned alot from doing it, my skills at event photography and concert photography were constantly challenged, my eye was refined by the quick, chaotic nature of the party, and of course I made a lot of great friends and saw a lot of awesome music.

Anyway, our mutual friend Kara Mae suggested that we each post our favorite images from our time a Taxlo, and Jim thought it was a good idea too, so here goes (click below to see them). I chose these off the cuff, so if there is one that is a favorite of yours that I excluded… respond and let me know!
